Hello everyone!
We are taking a break from the news cycle to pitch a mini-series to you, our dear readers and listeners.
As women, we have all told innumerable lies - from lying to our parents for something as small as getting out of the house to lying to ourselves about our own emotions and desires.
We have told lies to avoid conflicts and we have told lies to keep the peace.
Some lies have helped us survive a life-threatening situation, and some lies have helped us lead secret lives.
Whether it's at home or at work, lies, for better or worse, are a part and parcel of our lives - from lies about secret tattoos to lies about hidden scars.
But, what is it that motivates or compels us to lie? And what are the structures and systems that inhibit us from pursuing a life free of lies?
In order to explore the lies we tell and the secret lives they might reveal, we want to do a mini-series that brings together voices of women and their rich and nuanced interior and exterior lives. And, for that, we need your help.
If you would like to be part of our audio series (anonymously or otherwise) write to us at (itisha@bojubajai.org/bhrikuti@bojubajai.org) and we will share with you more details about the series and how you can be part of it.
To get an idea of other audience-inspired stories we have done, listen to our episode on online dating in Nepal called Love, Sex, but No Dhoka:
Happy listening and have a great week!
